Things to see in kingennie - angus glens

The beauty of the Glens of Angus touches everyone who sees them. Reaching far into the foothills of the Grampians, they epitomize the Scottish 'great outdoors', and provide opportunities from gentle rambling and hill-walking to serious mountaineering and skiing, from birdwatching and nature pursuits to loch and river fishing, a highland adventure outdoor pursuits centre featuring canoeing and abseiling, and excellent off-road horse riding and trekking.

The Angus Glens – five glens from west to east like the fingers of a hand – each one with its own special characteristics and each one well worth a visit. The Glens of Angus are to the east of Perthshire, south of the Grampians and north of Dundee, a series of five glens (valleys) running parallel to each other and all of them beautiful, peaceful and offering plenty of relatively painless hillwalking opportunities.

The Angus Glens Walking Festival, this year held June 2-5, has rightly earned its place on Scotland's Outdoor Events calendar and is a four-day event offering a varied programme of walks and evening entertainment to suit all ages and abilities.

Glens Isla, Prosen, Clova, Doll, Lethnot and Esk are all explored during the walking festival.
